Its called ball control and not giving your opponent an opportunity to score and try and get back in the game. Do you think GT would have simply thrown in the towel had Les punted. No. They would have tried to score quickly and then maybe an onside kick to get the ball back and try to score quickly again. LSU should not get into the habit of only playing 45 minutes of football regardless of the score.

If the game plan is ball control, that's how you coach and play the whole game. Doesn't matter how much time is left or what the score is.
I don't think we played a full 60 minutes (on offense), but Miles definitely coached a full game, which was really good to see.
Running up the score is part of the game, and after the Florida and Georgia games, I'm sure Miles felt a certain amount of triumph at even being accused of attempting to run up the score!
