Dabo and Mack Brown

Mack Brown fell apart at Texas when he began missing it on QB evaluations.
After DJU and Klubnik, both 5-stars, it looks like the same thing is happening to Dabo.

Dabo is simply not adapting and is being as stubborn as shite about it. Even Saban knew he had to adapt, and did it until the point where he felt it was time for him to walk away. Dabo doesn't seem to have any self awareness.

Brown had a run of QBs that didn't pan out while not recruiting QBs such as Drew Brees.
I understand all of the transfer portal stuff, but if DJU and Klubnik had lived up to their billing, the narrative would be a lot different. With good QB play, Clemson would still be a power.

Dabo hasn’t been the same since Venables left.

Exactly, for about a decade they had the better quarterback on the field (Boyd, Watson, and Lawrence), since then they have usually not had the better quarterback on the field. Thats the difference.

Dabo is determined to be right. I think he will die on the hill and take some of his shine off when he leaves. He and Saban said it would be a mess 5 years ago.
The team is good enough with the exception of QB and WRs. The run Clemson has was so good at those positions.
I am not sure if it Clemson struggling or the whole NIL/portal thing, but my interest is pretty low. I had season tickets for 20 years during Tommy West and Bowden years....it is just different now.

Mack Brown was at North Carolina when Drew Brees signed with Purdue.

The main difference being Saban rolled his eyes and went with the flow, keeping his program relevant even as he faded down the stretch.

They were both five stars. Everyone failed on the evaluation.
Dabo and his staff failed on preparing them and coaching them.
Mack Browns overall recruiting went to shite his last years. Dabo is still getting good classes.
Outcome is the same though, they aren’t winning like they were. But to say the evaluation was incorrect is not true.
