If so,

How much can I expect to pay and who are some good contractors to do it in South Louisiana. I’m thinking I’ll get colonial shutters that look nice and are relatively easy to close and bolt shut.

I installed hurricane panels for my house. I bought them wholesale from LINK and installed myself.

Parents have accordion shutters that came with the house. They don't look great, but they work when a hurricane rolls right overhead. If you just want shutters that you can keep open during non-storm season, I have no clue. They don't look too hard to DIY.

We just had aluminum shutters installed. They are powder coated and open and close for storms. Come with a bar to lock them closed. They do look nice and were painted to match the front door. It was nearly $1000 per pair for each 3x5 window…
Hard to find people still making wooden shutters, seem most have gone to metal.

Not what you asked, but I built wood shutters for all my windows. The hardest part was hanging them by myself.

There are some local carpenters on Facebook marketplace that make them for reasonable prices.
