our top ranked defense hasnt faired well against Meyer. What's your point? FL has tore through everyone.

And sure the offenses are changing...DC's have to start adjusting.

Where's the adjustment? Are you saying we should just keep trodding out the same ole defense every year?

I would seriously question anyone who couldn't at least understand and appreciate the hire

I appreciate it greatly. Better than what we had. Miles took a gamble last time and it didn't work out. He goes in the opposite direction and hires someone who's been in the SEC for a long time. It's the safest hire he can make.

George Walker (NFL experience and the guys he worked with/for are amazing).

Never been a college DC, it's a risk...besides, his name is George Edwards.

I don't care what his name is as long as he can coach. Besides he was an NFL DC, so that's good enough for me.

Again, I don't dislike the hire. I'm just not all that thrilled about it either. These are my pro's & con's on Chavis and why I'm not disappointed or overly excited. I'd like to know everyone elses opinions on it.

Pros:
Long time SEC coordinator,
Previously built strong defenses,
Helped Tenn to a mNC,
Knows some of the SEC coaches schemes

Cons:
Soft coverage (Mustand/Third and Chavis)
Has had some bad defenses as of late
No NFL experience
The SEC coaches know his schemes
No luck against Meyer and Saban so far

Unkowns:
How he will do outside of Tenn?
