I've been listening to a lot of alternative jazz genres lately, basically a lot of really talented bands have been injected more popular genres with high quality jazz. Today, I heard Butcher Brown for the first time:

They are fantastic. Their album #KingButch is in heavy rotation. Check out a band called Ezra Collective out of the UK. They are doing some cool jazz influenced stuff.
