When did Jesus tell us to join your church? You say "His" church, but the Bible doesn't talk about Catholics or Protestants. It talks about believers in Christ being the church.

What the Catholic church did to twist scripture is exactly why the church split. Your doctrines cannot be found in the Bible. It's all vast inferences made from thin air, because the Catholic church has anointed itself as the authority of knowledge, over the Bible.

God left us His Word. We have everything we need there. The church does not exist to make new doctrine, or new revelation. It is there to teach what is, and what isn't Biblical, based on scripture, and for fellowship. Jesus is the head of the Church, not the Pope.

Nearly, if not the entire history of the Catholic church has been founded on tradition passed on from one generation to another, rather than scriptural authority. Do you really believe that people just suddenly decided in the 1500's that they had a problem with the church? You don't suppose the delay of the split off from the corrupt church had anything to do with the fact that the Pope had become almost as powerful as any king? You don't suppose that people were in fear of their lives over the thought of anyone hearing about their objections to the "authority" of the church? Is this not exactly what believers dealt with from the Pharisees and Sadducees?
