It will end with an agreement for Scottie to make a public apology and he will pay a fine for a traffic violation. The DA’s office is going to let the thing die down a little and then push to let the police save face by getting a fine paid.

If I'm Scottie, there's no way I'm settling or admitting any guilt even for a lesser charge. Let the DA take this thing to trial. Judging by this pre-arraignment hearing, the prosecutor doesn't seem to be the brightest crayon. No way a jury convicts Scottie of any of this.

This is essentially what I said. Pay a traffic violation . . . not the same as pleading guilty to a charge. That’s the high-road here as it means no criminal charges for Scottie and the police get to save face by showing that there was a minor traffic violation.

I don’t think it goes to trial, but they will drag it out before dropping the charges or getting a plea deal. Rack up some court fees and fines to keep the lights on. One thing I gotta give Scottie credit for is how well he dealt with the situation. Pure class.
