What a novel idea; putting the blame where it belongs.
The people who decry "government schools" are on par with the ones who blame guns for the murder rate.
However, in both of these cases, the Federal Government's subsidizing bad decision making and removing involved fathers from homes is the ultimate problem, along with entitled people who ignore their kids and their problems.

To be clear, privatization of schools and forcing them to compete would be better than the current structure even if were magically a perfect world and all the parents were involved. There is too much room for waste and bloat when the government has the monopoly on it.
The root problem is the parents not taking responsibility for their kids education. Another almost equally large problem is massive bloat and zero accountability in school districts where there is no incentive to improve or force parents to care for their kids.
