my downtown office got hit by a tornado and lost a lot of windows. currently having to plan to drive to college station to work tomorrow morning since i'm without power in the heights. some strange weather in the houston area the last few weeks

Could a weather expert explain where the energy is coming from for these strong straight line storms?
