It’s probably not even the kid who’s making a big deal about it. Graduation ceremony is more for the family. I have to admit, it was embarrassing as a parent to have to tell the grandparents and aunts and uncles not to come because my kid can’t walk over some BS. And yeah, my kid really did commit the minor infraction and i punished them for it. It’s a hard lesson to learn that sometimes, if people don’t like you for whatever reason, those in power will abuse it and use it to single you out. If you know you are in a situation like that, maybe a job where the boss doesn’t like you, keep your head down and mind your p’s and q’s until you are in a better situation. This no-walking shite is more a punishment for me than it is for them.
