In the 80s, we made ramps all the time. My older brother broke both collarbones when the ramp snapped and he hit the two tires that the top of the ramp were set on. He was trying to clear 5 old tires set out in a row. He was thrown over the handlebars and came down about halfway through.

I once hit a ramp bad after about a 40 yard downhill approach and lost control through the landing and instead of the seat, I came down and racked by arse and nuts on the frame. That one sucked.
