Actually being right handed would be a distinct advantage in this scenario as the glove on the left hand would extend farther up the line toward the errant throw. A lefthander would have to stretch across his body to reach the ball. The reverse is true , though if the errant throw is toward the infield side .

If it is on the infield side IT IS NOT ERRANT

Eta Well by Milazzo standards, yes it would’ve been errant.
