Props to Corso for the inspiration to try and find In Broad Daylight. Could only find that YouTube Version, but it was good enough. Made it even "campier".
Based On A True Story
McElroy was played chillingly by Brian Dennehy, one of America's finest actors (Died: Apr 15, 2020. May he rest in peace). Several Oscar Winners (Marcia Gay Harden and Cloris Leachman) were in the cast as well.
He and his family insulted and terrorized the citizens of a small town for years. Always escaping incarceration due to threats and intimidation. Town folk final had enough, and well, you'll have to watch it to find out the ending! Great movie in my book.
IMDb Review.

Has there been an better actor who plays the smug, arrogant a-hole as well as he does? I've always thought the made for TV movie In Broad Daylight about the killing of Ken Rex McElroy and his performance in that role was very underrated. I don't think anybody could've done it better

No, can't recall if I did. Will bookmark it. Here's another link: LINK
Dennehy R.I.P. creeped me out in many movies. I'll have to add that one to the list!
