quote:I mean yeah, it's standard for all government contracts to have a minimum set-aside amount for "disadvantaged" small businesses, and leave the rest for their "prime" contractors, but that still doesn't negate the fact that 3.4 billion dollars of taxpayer money ought be spent on the best bang for your buck candidates. Period. End of story.
If OP owned a set of balls, he would come here and admit that a) the tweet was misleading, and b) he didn’t verify his claim before posting.
Of course that won’t happen. And the rest of the tards here are going to ignore these facts as well. Just read the replies from the crayon eaters.
You've no idea what you're talking about: the federal government contracting space is a traveling side show of incompetence, and I'll tell you what will happen, because it happens all the time on every sizable government contract: Bill the white guy who knows his shite will create a subsidiary, put Monique the black woman as the majority owner on paper and work a deal out where she gets a check for doing nothing, then get the set-aside contract. Alternatively, Wanda, who's a white woman, gets the contract, can't perform, makes out with her share, then the government is back at square one hiring Carlos the 3rd generation Mexican building contractor who gets the job done because he knows his shite. Now extrapolate that out across billions, and you've got a project falling behind the deadline and budget like government contracts always do.
You're living in democrat dream land if you think it's cut and dry and "equitable," and everything is hunky-dory. There's massive amounts of fraud going on when these type numbers are being doled out. This is what politicians do: pat themselves on the back for spending our money on what they know will be shitshows, and plebs like you eat it up and never pay attention to it ever again. There are tens of thousands of millionaires who do nothing but work the government contracting circuit, bilking millions out of the incompetence of sorry arse bureaucrats, and we pay for it.
