re: NY Gov: Young black kids don’t know what a computer is

There is still a cultural problem in the black community where they criticize anything having to do with education as “acting white”. I used to hear it as a kid in school.
If a black kid was studying, reading, doing homework or other studious activity, other black kids would make fun of them and say they’re “acting white”.

It’s still prevalent today and part of the problem with advancement in the black community.
Obama had a unique opportunity to address this but he failed miserably and even played down to it at times. It was as if he was more concerned with losing street cred than lifting people up
