Sad isn't the word, maybe pathetic. Gambling is like a tax for being poor at math. Anytime I hear a liberal espouse the virtues of their cause I ask "explain gov't backed gambling". The slippery slope was greased by oily Democrats (EWE and his slimy ilk) to rake in more money to buy the votes of the poor. It is a lot easier to fool people, than it is to convince them they have been fooled.
The gov't should be doing everything possible to enrich and improve the lives of citizens, not exploit their weaknesses and rob them. Every slot machine, every lottery ticket, every roll of the dice is a result of morally bankrupt politicians.
And the suckers line up to throw their money away. What baffles me is when a casino closes, how inept you must be if you can't run a business that takes in money from the suckers and gives them nothing in return.
