Lucas has said his goal was to target 12 year olds. A big problem for the prequels was the fanbase was older, so these silly films were reviled. But the truth is the OG films were also pretty silly. ESB being the least cheesy film.

Do any of you believe the theory that Jar Jar was being set up to be a villain?
