They are “largely” safe. That is to say that the number of people affected, as a percentage of those who were vaccinated, by serious adverse events is small.

That number, however, is large enough and significant enough, that if the vaccine adverse events were seriously evaluated like all other drugs are evaluated in the United States, it is unlikely that they would be approved based upon their AE profile.
