Are you unable to recognize what he did last season with an offensive line that was unable to protect?
Have you ever seen a QB play that well while under that much pressure? And I'm just talking about pressure in the passing game, but even off the field, he handled it well. He didn't put blame on the offensive line when talking to the media, even though that was was such a problem that he was getting knocked out of games, getting pain shots to finish games, etc.
Even this ion issue is out of character for Shedeur. He's really just defending his dad. They get so much hate in general, obviously that's going to happen.
One of the most legitimate criticisms of Deion is actually on how bad the offensive line was last season. There was some serious misevaluation going into last season. Maybe part of that was Deion being more focused on other positions, but neglecting the OL to some degree?
Now the OL has been revamped. Good questions for media to ask would be about what has changed from last year on evaluations of linemen. That's a better angle for criticism than other recruiting methods. Because some things about Deion are just different. Doing things differently is okay, but when Shedeur is unable to stay healthy because the OL assembled was that bad, that's a problem.
