Speed queens look like 1990s maytags on the inside that's why they last. They are old school.
. Best be washer you can buy.
. Though the direct drive whirlpool/ kenmore from 1982 to 2009 is a better machine if you have one of those keep it running.
Agreed. It is getting hard to source parts for those older machines though (sadly) like older cars.
You are correct, and my response was directed at the goober saying SQ was just building the cost of their machines into the warranty. They are not. It is a top quality build compared to all the other shite on the market costing 75-80% as much with a basically worthless warranty. (I learned this the hard way but that is a different topic).
Upvote for you, and not sure who the 2 idiots are who DV this.
ETA: I would add the Maytags from about the same time frame to the Kenmore/Whirlpools. That was the washer I had to replace when I made the modern Whirlpool/Maytag mistake, and ended up buying a Speed Queen 4 months later so I could have a reliable machine to wash my damn clothes in less than 50 minutes, and not have to wait weeks to get replacement parts under warranty while their customer service said " sorry, deal with it..."
That POS Maytag from 2021 is still sitting in my garage and I can't get someone to give me $100 for it. It might have washed 40-50 loads of clothes total, and has had 2 transmissions replaced before it was 4 months old. Piece Of shite!!!

after going through four washing machines since i got married in 2011, i finally pulled the trigger on a SQ last year. got the base model, with the fewest bells and whistles - absolutely love it. going to get the base model dryer too, when ours (inevitably) kicks the bucket.
