My wife doesn't seem to understand this reality. She thinks there will just always be a contractor available to charge a fair price and do a good job. We got lucky with our roof and window contractors after Ida. We got lucky with having a friend who owns a good, small fence company. I had to do a lot of things myself because of the issue you stated.
