Let's wait and see if the transfers we bring in this spring will make a difference there and at least hold up. If they do, and the defense is even marginally better than last year we should be in the playoffs.

Wait for the defense. Agree but that window is a week away and nobody with top notch talent is even in the portal. Couple of average/above average DL but some 5 star talent CBs (may have cultural issues, who knows).
Just hope that 5 * DL is a 3 and Pro player and makes that impact that our 2 OL that are 3 and done did a couple of years ago as freshmen.
