Here is what I imagine. A crazy intent on killing innocent kids shows up at the school and sees a sign that says "You are in Tennessee now. Our teachers are packing". The crazy immediately turns around and goes somewhere else.

We really don't have any data for or against teachers packing. We do have tons of data that show the crazy shooters choose gun free zones to do their carnage. We also have data that "Gun Free Zones" don't seem to work all that well.
