what math? A whole cycle is about 28 days - day 1 starting on the first day of her period

28 days is 4 weeks.

1 week of bleeding and another week of a fertile time. (roughly)

So that would be two weeks you would need to go if you don’t want to have sex while someone is either fertile or on their period.

Many have said that you only have to go about a week without sex.

So does that mean people are having sex while they’re on their period? That’s the only way that would be possible. If not, you have to abstain two weeks.

Partly that, and partly you overestimated the amount of time you have to abstain.

No go during period (unless you're into that) is more like 4-5 days. So is ovulation, though they do say 6 days is the safest amount of time. It also differs for each woman, but most folks are really abstaining for maybe 10 days.

Now if we're talking about a married couple already with a couple of kids, it's probably more like 20, but that's a different thread.
