This is actually pretty common. Before the days of computers, parents would turn utilities on or open lines of credit in their children’s names. Kid grows up to find his credit is ruined before he actually has any credit!

Pro tip if you do this kind of fraudulent stuff, do it before the child turns 10, that way none of the information should appear on their credit report. Their report should be back to being squeaking clean by the time they turn 17. If he or she pulls it at this age and those accounts are still there he can always dispute the information as fraud and the agencies should remove them given the age. Heck even in some states you have to be over 18 or 19 to even be eligible for a credit card.
Also who hasn’t used a dog or a cat’s name for a Columbia House membership and skip out after getting the 11 CD’s for one penny.
There is even an episode of the Simpsons where Bart gets a credit card in the name of the family dog. I wonder if that actually happens in real life with immigrants running amuck now in this country with out social security numbers.
