I disagree. The puritans of early New England might have arrived less than rich, but they were never “trashy”. They brought strong family culture and work ethic, which is why the regions inhabited by puritans grew so wealthy so fast.

All that land the Brits got in Virginia, Marylandcsnd the Carolinas made those areas home to some of the oldest money in our country
