Any American that roots for LIV either hates golf, loves the drama or both.
For me, I love the drama. Not going to deny that. The PGAT has always had this smug, country club feel that overpowered other tours and monopolized the golf landscape in the past to feed the best players into playing their tournaments located in the states. The European golfers are now realizing this (along with the insane contracts being thrown around by PIF) and probably feel galvanized as a result to lead this counter movement against the PGAT. Plus, no one gives a shite about the Rocket Mortgage Open in Detroit. Especially if you’re from Spain, Australia or the Nordic countries. The idea that golf would be “unified” by playing the John Deere Classic and other meaningless PGAT events is bullshite. I think it would legitimately grow the game to invest heavily into an international tour that rivals the PGAT. If that’s LIV, so be it. But they should seriously consider buying out and establishing an alliance with DPWT to at least allow the members of LIV to play their way into the majors with OWGR points.
Plus, LIV is entertaining to me. It’s good golf with great golfers. Cam Smith is my favorite player in the world. I don’t care what tour he plays and if he does/doesn’t wear shorts. Does there need to be tweaks to the format? Absolutely. But the format is refreshing and produces a proper golf broadcast.
LIV Adelaide is going to be epic in size and scale. A lot of you on here will downplay what will be an incredible tournament and atmosphere

Your argument fell apart with this statement. Total amateur hour with those announcers.

I’ll start by saying I’m going to the LIV event in Houston in June.
But I couldn’t give a shite about any of their tournaments. Zero tradition, a bunch of golf is played outside of the USA. I care about one a tournament a year played outside of the USA.
It seems like the events are like preseason games/Allstar games (No cut events). I don’t watch those either.
Like I said though I’m going in June and maybe I’ll change my mind so we shall see.

I feel the PGA has tried this “world tour” before and it just didn’t work from a financial standpoint. LIV doesn’t have to worry about being profitable, the PGA Tour does.
