Your Saturday plans should be set. Just plan on arriving to campus early, tailgating all day and then enjoying the game. The tailgate scene is enormous and hard to describe. Walk around campus and don't be afraid to chat up some tailgaters. They will be more than happy to share some food and drink.

So really you just need a plan for Friday. I would suggest going on a swamp tour. There are lots of choices between NO and BR that would fit nicely with your travel plans if you are renting a car. It's uniquely Louisiana and a great time. I've lived here my entire life and didn't go on a tour until recently. It was a blast.
