No they aren’t. The wheels can be moving backwards and it doesn’t matter. The plane can move forwards while the wheels rotate opposite to the planes motion as along as the force of the turbine pulling it forward exceeds the force of gravity on the plane downwards…which I imagine it can since, you know, its a plane.

Not on the treadmill. If the wheels are touching the treadmill, and speeds are matched, the plane isn't moving.
Explain to me how the plane lifts off the ground if it isn't moving.
