Reading the thread, it seems like baws don’t like it because they can’t tell if a car is stopped or moving in front of them. Which is beyond me because it doesn’t seem like a problem anywhere else in the country

The issue is needing to make thay determination, potentially making the wrong initial determination, and increasing the risk of rear ending a slowing or stopping vehicle.

It's never happened to you and good for you, but I drive 50k miles a year. I was nearly flattened by a car doing exactly that in a downpour before. I had to stop due to stopped traffic, put on my flashers, car going too fast, also with flashers on, had to lock up the brakes and luckily went off the side the road instead of into my car. They assumed the flashers didn't mean anything. And that is the problem, when everybody is using them for everything they do not mean anything.
