The whole essay is a really good read. It's basically saying everything any skeptic observed about NPR's change in reporting over the last decade to be true. I listened to NPR every day on my commute to / from work from about 2009 - 2016. A lot of people here always said that NPR was very left leaning, even back in 2010. While they did lean left some back then, it felt much more middle of the road when compared to any other legacy news outlet. It was easier to wade through the bullshite then and I felt I was getting mostly objective journalism. It was clear by 2016 that things were changing. That's probably about the time I stopped listening. And that coincides with what this editor describes as a major shift from journalism to activism there.
It's very disappointing what has happend to NPR.
