I've owned a 2005, 2008, and 2012 frontier over the years.
It's a fantastic truck and very reliable. I agree it is dated, and turns like a battleship. The VQ engine is bulletproof, tons of power, it tows well, it rides well.
I tried twice to compare it to a Tacoma and I came away feeling that the Tacoma was underpowered, cheaper built, and "loose" feeling. May have been my preference but it drives more sporty than the Tacoma.
I took all to 100k and never had a repair bill, routine maintenance only.
