It is for sure. You’ve got to include the Bronze Age Canaanites, Sumerians, Akkadians, Babylonians, and Persians in there as well. For me I think my favorite is the Babylonian Enuma Elish wherein their god Marduk, whom them called “Bel” (master) conquered the great water dragon of chaos (Tiahmat), split it in half, and created the firmament to divide its body into the upper waters (of the sky) and the lower waters (called Tehom in Hebrew, a cognate of Tiahmat). The Hebrews called their god Yahweh by the title Baal (a cognate of Bel, also meaning master). Yahweh conquered the water monster/dragons Rahab and Leviathan, and divided the waters into upper waters and lower waters and created the firmament to keep them separate.
