This theory is so ridiculous and is not based in any sort of reality. Divorcing a broad very rarely if ever ends her gravy train if you divorce her, especially if you’re well off financially. There’s alimony, child support among many things to consider. Murdering him would most certainly end the gravy train though because he’s no longer around to produce more music. She wouldn’t get child support or alimony either. Truth be told, she's only entitled to whatever is left after his estate is settled. Sure Nirvana remains popular 30 years later but there’s no way she could have foreseen that 10, 20 or 30 years into the future.

They had a prenuptial agreement and Kurt wanted out of both the marriage and the music industry. He didn't want the fame and glory, but it was all she wanted. The gravy train was ending not just for her but for him too, because that's what he wanted.

And she is a conniving psycho. When Kurt walked out on her and she didn't know where he was she falsely reported his credit card stolen, she planted a story in the AP that she had overdosed just to lure him back home, bragged about her savvy in manipulating the media, and she tried to get her P.I. to hire someone to hack the airlines to find out where Kurt may have flown to because Michael Stipe had recently given Kurt plane tickets, all of which she admitted to on tape.

And who the frick cares about 10, 20, 30 years into the future, Kurt hadn't even been gone 10 years and she had been in suits with his estate to invalidate the prenup and seize control over the estate from Frances and against Grohl and Novoselic for control of the band's material.... which was highly lucrative at the time and all of which she would have had ZERO of if he had divorced her.

With her track record, it's not out of the realm of reason to think she might have had him killed. You don't need to think Kurt was some infallible rock god or that Nirvana was the bestest band ever to consider the possibility.
