That I will agree with, we did a land grab for our NATO empire at the end of the Cold War that embarrassed Russia, and their national shame is the power Putin wields.

Frankly he could have continued a slow burn the rest of his life chipping away at allies and eroding the power of our empire on the margins. But he didn't, he invaded Ukraine and gave us a once in a century opportunity to pivot to China.

The sad truth is the US of the 1990s could have taken on China and Russia, but we aren't that nation anymore. Our internal decay has eaten away at our capabilities. Without Elon we couldn't even send rockets into space like the Russians can for crying out loud.

That is why I am glad we are taking advantage of the opportunity Putin has presented us while we still have enough momentum from what the Greatest Generation gave us to setup the world for another 50 years of US dominance.
