I did order the gladiator (and my wife’s wrangler before that) so I suppose you are correct. I just quickly checked new inventory at the dealer I use and all the new vehicles on their lot are automatic I’m about to need to replace wife’s wrangler and she will insist on a manual. She’s a good woman

What’s really messed up- and you would know better than i would- is that i bet they still tack on an extra few hundred dollars, or even an extra couple thousand bucks- for the automatic transmission.. when in fact the automatic transmission is now the de facto standard option anyway, yet they still charge more for it .

Back in the early 90's a K1500 Chevy extended cab with a manual got something like a $2000 discount, listed on the window sticker, beyond the savings for ordering the optional auto. They were trying to boost sales of manuals for fuel economy numbers to please the government as I recall. That was a big discount back then.

Manuals have never been an option on extended nor crew cab 1/2 ton Silverados since they came out in 1999. They discontinued manuals behind the Duramax somewhere around 2007 iirc.
