Considering a cruise out of Rome and they were recommended by a friend.
Has anyone taken one of these? More like a huge yacht than a cruise ship it looks like.
Was curious about food, etc.
Anyone have experience with Emerald?

We did Passau to Budapest last year. First river cruise, so can’t compare to others. The boat looked identical to Viking an others. We stopped in the same places and had similar tours as them since we would see their groups we we were out. Food was good and plentiful. They tried to match the local cuisine at night. Wine variety was excellent. I was disappointed in the beer selection. Only 2 types on draft (Carlsberg and another red ale). I would have liked to have had more choices of local beers.
Overall e enjoyed it

Some replies are about Emerald river cruises. You seem to be asking about a Med cruise... pretty different, but company does a nice job either way.
Yacht-like vessels have a predictable life starting in the Med while they are in good shape and ending in the Caribbean as old age sets in.
