So all four generators (if so equipped) and presumably at least two diesel engines failed at the same time? These ships are built with redundancies to prevent that. Also, electrical failure could have been in the switch gear, but then all four? Plus the diesels are usually isolated from the electrical system, but things like bow thrusters are not.
