for the last one i was at ground zero in nashville and had to drive about 7 miles closer to town for the 'longest dark period' and my only recollection is we left about 30 minutes before it started and there was nothing out of the ordinary with traffic or anything else.

Nashville is surely more well equipped to deal with it than some of these places in Bumfrick, Arkansas. I know it's going to be a mess that week here

Those concerns are for the smaller population towns in the direct path. Those towns have resources available to support their actual population and many of those places are expecting 100,000 visitors. That can’t be supported by the 2 local gas stations and single grocery store.
