If think this is a good point.
I think it is hard due to USMNT being the better team currently. But I can see some guys choosing Mexico if it allows a clearer path to more playing time.
Meaning Mexico will get sloppy seconds. And like it.

Julian Araujo 100% chose Mexico because he saw that he wasn't ever going to be starting at RB with Dest having that spot locked down. Same goes with David Ochoa, who at the time, saw that he was 4th in the pecking order behind Turner, Steffen and Horvath while Mexico had a GK abyss behind an aging Memo. David Ochoa, btw, is no longer playing professionally, crazy fall from grace for him.
On the flip side, I think Alex Zendejas made a huge mistake choosing USMNT over Mexico. He's probably not good enough for either, but likely had a better chance of featuring long term for Mexico.
