He had to release his first special on Youtube for free because no one would contract with him. Since then, releasing specials on YouTube has become popular because of how successful his was.
He was also fired from SNL and dragged by every media outlet for being a racist and had to build everything he had earned to that point back up from scratch. But yeah... Scott-free.

He hosted SNL a few weeks ago and has a new show coming out on Netflix in May. How many people that have done lesser shite have had that kind of comeback? He kissed someone's ring.
