Washington averages 5.9 yards per carry to Bush's 3.8. He has about 40 less rushing yards than Bush, but on 43 less carries. He has scored 5 rushing TD's to Bush's 2. Washington has over 300 yards receiving and a pair of rec. td's so it's not like he can't catch. And he is a better return man than Bush. So tell me again, why the hell the Jets would take a huge hit to their salary cap to take on an inferior player? While it may be time to trade Bush, the suggestion that the Jets would somehow want him is laughable.

that is all fine and dandy, but comparing their stats when:
1) Bush has played hurt this year
2) Washington has a MUCH better OL to run behind
3) the NYJ have an overall MUCH better running game than the Saints do
4) the NYJ do everything they can to keep Favre from losing the game throwing the ball while the Saints expect Brees to win the game throwing the ball for them
pretty much makes the stats meaningless

and why do you think Washington isnt about to get a big contract?

Washington's contract:
CONTRACT INFO: 7/22/2006: Signed a four-year contract. 2008: $445,000, 2009: $530,000, 2010: Free Agent

or that Bush would be a huge cap hit for the Jets?

Bush's contract:
7/29/2006: Signed a six-year, $52.5 million contract. The deal contains $26.31 million guaranteed, including a $12.5 million option bonus in the second year and $9.5 million in incentives. 2008: $1.55 million, 2009: $2.225 million (+ $4 million roster bonus), 2010: $2.9 million, 2011: $3.575 million, 2012: Free Agent

Most of the big money on Bush's contract has already been paid out by the Saints.

but let me repeat, Bush is a marketable star in a place where stars matter and Washington is a nobody, especially considering the eventual end of the Favre era, the dominance of the Giants and needing PSL sales for a new stadium in a slow economy. I don't think Washington's superior stats to Bush right now balance all of that out

so once again, the premise of the thread is now the time to really consider trading Bush and is a deal with the Jets for Rhodes doable? I think it is time to trade him and I think the Jets would be the perfect place for him.

Bush signed a new contract before this season. Changes things--his base salaries are WAY higher now...
