Are the projects going to help traffic? Yeah, I think they will.

Are they going to prevent a wreck or stalled vehicle on the bridge from fricking up traffic in BR? No, probably not. Although I do think the improvements will make a significant difference for folks traveling eastbound over the bridge, into the city.

A huge part of the issue in BR seems from decades upon decades of poor urban planning. We need another bridge, but we’d be a lot better off if the city hadn’t been developed in a way that allows 2-3 miles of interstate next to the bridge to frick up the entire city in the first place.

There are way too many people getting on the interstate only to get right back off 2-3 exits later, because the layout of the city (combined with shitty options on surface streets) basically dictates it.
