If you have a major roll in the company, and haven't taken the steps to say who to go to in certain cases then you can't be pissed if they call.
If it's trivial stuff b/c the manager can't operate on their own then that's their fault. If they expect you to work on your vacation then you should immediately request a raise. You're clearly of value.
