Death sentence is a legal term.
It was an accident.
The fact he was wearing dark clothes most certainly did not help him avoid being hit.
You're trying to paint the driver as some sort of monster and as a bonus, airing your stupid grievance against a bunch of Southern dudes who make the world go round.

If every dooshy bicyclist disappeared tomorrow, a few spandex factories would go out of business.
