And if we did, capital would just move to another country that is capable of making stuff cheaper. You are starting to see that with India and Vietnam.

The problem with the argument free traders like roger bring is they ignore the fact that there is essentially no free trade in the world.

While we import stuff without levying tariffs the country sending us their shite do not do the same.

Price out a Corvette in Germany or a Buick Enclave in China and get back to me.

It has to be a two way street otherwise you simply destroy your own manufacturing base while strengthening that of others. See China as example number one.

It's a globalist position.

Allowing tariff free imports turbocharged the growth of the welfare class.

Who vote democrat btw.

Business people are smarter than government people. They find ways around protectionism.
