I’ll wait and see how he constructs the roster but it is going to be tough to improve it from this year. I doubt he gets transfers as good as Wright and Baker.

In two transfer cycles while operating under the cloud of possible draconian NCAA sanctions and a losing season in his first year McMahon landed:

K. J. Williams - All SEC level player
Jordan Wright - All SEC honorable mention player
Will Baker - Double figure scorer
Jalen Cook - All SEC talent if attitude issues are resolved
Hunter Dean - great complementary piece and team leader
Trae Hannibal - Became high level player in last half of year -
Carlos Stewart - Injuries curtailed his season but was all conference in mid major league
Derek Fountain - Good complementary piece, inconsistent
Cam Hayes- Good complementary piece, inconsistent

It is logical to expect McMahon may have even better success in the portal this year following a successful season and probable NIT tourney appearance. There are fewer holes to fill now provided Ward, Reed and Williams return and perhaps a more humbled Cook stays and plays up to his taalent level in a controlled manner.
