Dude. Get away from that dealership IMMEDIATELY.
First off… a “clicking” noise isn’t a Rod. A Rod knock is an unmistakable hammering or a blunt metal banging sound very loud and noticeable. A “clicking” noise sounds like valvetrain. You could have a collapsed lifter that could be fixed for a grand or two most, labor included.
2nd.. if it is a Rod.. then there is no friken way a repair should cost 30k. None. Zero. They quoted you a brand new, valve cover to oil drain, engine from Audi and included their ridiculous labor. Find a good shop and let them diagnose. Then sit back and be astounded how bad Audi has fricked you to this point.
