I would do some research on "The Raw Food Diet." There is lots of information out there about it. I did the research, and from what I learned just about the kibbles and the manufacturing process, I'll never feed that to a dog or a cat again. The Raw Food Diet costs me less than the large bags of the premium food we were using. Not much less, but less. Now, I don't figure in my labor as I consider it a labor of love. I make 50 lbs. batches at a time, and then put portions in small plastic freezer containers. This is enough food to feed my cocker for 60 days. The only tools needed are a good sharp knife, a large plastic tub, and a good meat grinder. My meat grinder is an expensive grinder, but I use it for a lot more than just making dog food.
