The biggest factor was allowing the taunting all game. The second biggest factor was the USC Ron Artest reactions to pretty run of the mill fouls.
It's a pattern with them. For instance, some usc player wanted to curb stomp a UT player yesterday who committed a foul then tripped and brained herself. The usc player was ready to go after the UT girl who was on the ground writhing in pain.

The refs lost control of the game to the SC players. The refs missed a handful of calls against SC... which were clearly noted by the commentators. The worst thing they did, though, was to ignore the taunting by SC. They never even looked their way!
